ART BARF! Lights and shadows.
A video of a quick image I made this morning, focusing on sketching through light and shadow rather than line work.
I apologize for the silence, but it was impossible for me to record any narration since the kids in my neighborhood are all out on vacation and the noise they make playing out in the street makes it impossible to record anything.I’d add music, but then YouTube would just take it down or I’d have to use whatever music they got. So just play your own music and imagine you and I have very similar tastes.
I hope you enjoy!
Made in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Of course, the video is sped up, the original duration was 1.5 hours.

(be sure to check out the image at its original size… you know, right click and all that)

This looks like a mash up- Uruk Hai from the movies and eldar from WH40000
I like it
Just out of idle curiosity – why did you flip the image? I guess the question would be better – was there a specific reason or just “I liked it better that way”?
Just curious – it’s very cool, as always.
@M-M-M: Oh no, there’s a very specific reason why the image needs to be flipped several times during the process.
The brain gets used to looking at things, and flipping the image kind of “resets” the brain in regards to looking at it. When you flip the image, you can correctly evaluate proportions, composition and such and catch any mistakes.
” So just play your own music and imagine you and I have very similar tastes.”
That made me laugh.
