COMMISSIONATHLON Day 09 – The basilisk and the girls
on June 14, 2011 at 9:21 amSo day 09 of the COMMISSIONATHLON is through, andf we’ve got ourselves another tattoo design! The client this time (a man by the name of Alex) wanted a composition to would honor those things he considers dearest t him: his city, his family, women, games, skulls and the number 42 (plus a little something extra, if you look carefully).
The design is made so that the central figure of the basilisk goes on the shoulder, with the shield going down the arm and each card going to the chest and back.
As always click the image to view a larger version.
NOTE: The basilisk in this image is based on the actual basilisk statue that Mr. Alex said represents his home town of Basel. I realize it’s probably different from what most gamers would imagine a basilisk looks like, but still. I read around the internet somewhere that back in the middle ages, the basilisk was also known as the “cockatrice”.

Every once in a while you prove to me that you are genius. Simply and utterly.
This is amazing! I wouldn’t want to get it as a tattoo, though. How is a tattoo artist ever supposed to make it look as good?
Loving the added ninja factor!
I really love the queen of Hearts. BTW Alex, once you got it done I would love to see that one
Heck, I could drive to Basel, Baden isn’t that far
Wow!
