” will O date zombie Na-whatever ? ” …. hmm zombina…the female zombie, a fetish delight indeed but alas a decomposing date partner is not a thing of good taste

” decomposing date partner is not a thing of good taste”

Meh, all women are decomposing date partners once a month anyway.

Let us cook a comic: We need Ninjas, Tentacle Monsters on fire, Bloodhound Gang references, drunk people, half naked O’s and a little bit of zombie (merely one or more?).
I really like todays strip ^^

Could it be? The first eye pupil in Commissioned?

And O, I noticed that Sparrow’s burnt sleeve on the third panel looks a little like Cthulhu (or a squid at least, with eyes and tentacles) itself. Is it on purpose?

    @ J.C.

Nope! O has been experimenting with pupils before. He just never gets them right. That’s why he keeps drawing eyes without pupils.

I think he should leave them like that, it starting to become some sort of trademark thingy..

Oh, and by the way O… Apparently you’re still struggling with storytelling after all these years. I skipped this site for two Months and they’re still in the same restaurant and Chtulhu the tentacle thingy is still in the pan…

Lot’s of great comic artist only made it because they teamed up with good story-writers, you know!

@Dreeze: Thanks for the feedback and the advice. And the asteism.

Do keep in mind, though, that just because they’re still IN the restaurant that doesn’t mean nothing has happened during the last 2 months. Plenty of stuff has happened, it’s just happened within the same space.

Nevertheless, I won’t deny it. I’m not the best storyteller – but I honestly hope I’m not the worst. In the end, if the Abnormals manage to read the comic, have fun and perhaps get a chuckle or a couple of laughs, I think it’s all good. Personally, I’ll always be “struggling” to be better. I’d hate to be one of those webcomic artists that reaches a certain point and just sits there!

In any case, thanks for your opinion. If it interests you at all, I am actually working on some projects that require much more emphasis on the story, and for that, I actually have teamed up with a writer. Those are plans for 2013, though.

Don’t get me wrong O, I really enjoy your art and your website. It’s just that I think you could do so much more or so much better. Your comics are of a consistent quality and quite humorous in their own special way. If you could find a way to pour them in a consequent and gripping storyline you might be able to publish them to a wider audience and make some serious money of them…

I agree that plenty has happened in the restaurant but it just keeps building towards this climax that just doesn’t seem to come. Given the fact that you have often abandonded storylines just after the one joke you created them for has been delivered, it seems to me like you just don’t have a clue were to take the story next and therefore keep postponing the inevitable in the hope that in the meantime you find some way to take the story further.

You managed to do that quite often in the AD&D storylines, which I still think were your best comics (not just artwise, but as an overall comic). But in the other storylines you somehow often get stuck.

Good luck with your upcoming projects,

    Cheers,
    Dreeze

I read a lot of webcomics, and Commissioned Comic is on the shortlist of comics that I avidly read when posted. I like what you’re doing, and I enjoy seeing you improve over time. If you brought in a writer for CC, the storytelling might be smoother, but I’m not sure I would like it better. And I, for one, appreciate that you mix in some sketch comedy.
