Today’s comic isn’t really a comic at all, as you can plainly see.
If you’ve been checking out the site or following what I do through some other network thingy, you might’ve noticed that for a while I had been posting daily artwork, and then I suddenly stopped. The reason for this has been simply that I’ve got my hands full with a couple of projects, and while I’ve been enjoying the chance to work on fun and interesting artwork for our not-so-secret projects, they haven’t really left me with much time for any other artistic incursions.
Like I said, I’m really enjoying the artwork I have to do for these things, but I miss my daily sketches and art explorations. o yesterday, as I sat sketching out the next step in our current storyline, my mind started to wander towards painting trees and water and cats riding mechanical legs. I struggled with the comic for the rest of the day and night, until I finally decided to give in to whereever it was that my mind was taking me and around 3 AM started working on the image you see above. Admittedly, there’s a few things I’d do differently if I had dedicated a bit more time to it – but at least I managed to get this image out of my head!
Well get back to the storyline on Monday. For now, I hope you like the artwork.
Good hunting;
O
NOTE: In accordance with your wishes, I’ll make it into a wallpaper later today.

Awesome Artwork!! Any chance to get a high rez version for wallpaper purposes?
Avoiding water like a BOSS
Artwork is great, I’m glad of the general artwork pieces “return”
I think I know this tree from some of your previous works…
Would it be rude if I asked if you reused some old artwork/sketch, or just have a habit of (or maybe some latest sympathy towards) drawing such curved trees overhanging the water?
All the best
Hey, it could be an idea for an entirely new story line. A furry future storyline. Unless it takes the fun out of experimenting.
@AngryPotato: Nah, it’s not insulting. But it does make me question myself, though.
See, I don’t really approve of artists that copy/paste, re-use, trace or anything of the sort. I frown upon webcomics that use such things, and I discard any artist that does as lazy.
So it goes without saying that I don’t do it. But if the tree is very similar to older trees I’ve made, well then, I guess I should start expanding my knowledge of trees.
Awww, beautiful. I would like to see a wallpaper version of it.
“NOTE: In accordance with your wishes, I’ll make it into a wallpaper later today.”
3 Words: Thank you, sir!
@O: While new drawing is always better than tracing/copying from older works, not all artists who do that are lazy (some are simply overloaded with work), and shouldn’t be immidiately discarded as such.
In the words of the great Wally Wood: “Never draw anything you can copy, never copy anything you can trace, never trace anything you can cut out and paste up.”
That walking machine sure has seen some better days.
I like the picture.
me want wallpaper, i don’t update wallpapers often, cuz i’m super picky but this one would be awesome!
