Phew! This one really beat me up – but thankfully it’s Friday which means I’ve got the whole weekend to produce the images I need. It’s not exactly a vacation, but even if there isn’t much of a difference an extra day to produce an image can mean a world of difference.
In today’s video I talk about how to color and illuminate metal so that it looks like… well… metal. I hope you find it useful.

more warcraft? well I don’t like warcraft, at ALL!
But you make it look good.
salute
Very good job. Love how all the details just come together. Love it (as usual). Hmmm can I just keep you in my pocket and pay you to do commissions for me whenever I want?
@Renee: How much is rent in your pocket? Does it have a good kitchen?
O. this is probably your best piece yet.
i hate that staff but i love the helmet. it looks so… functional
@sal: I don’t think WoW has much concerns regarding the functionality of armor and/or equipment. I mean, some of the stuff I’ve seen looks quite the opposite. The characters in this commission were actually rather conservative there by comparison.
Oh yeah, now that u talk about the helmet I was thinking…how the fuck can a tauren put this helmet on?!With his horn, it should be impossible!
O u better have a good explanation xD (and the fact that ur art is great won’t save u).
@sohma it looks like a giant nut that can slip over the horn, then screw in for a firm fit.
Hi O,
nice work. I like watching your videos a lot. They keep me motivated to train my drawing skills a little
. I hope you find some time to explain and show the photoshop process in detail.
how do I enter the contest?
