Headless Scotty Rickets
by O Abnormal

There’s a boy on my street
just a few houses down
not allowed to come out
or run around town

He’s not being punished
or sent right  to bed
he’s young Scotty Rickets
the boy with no head

Is he monster or devil?
They couldn’t decide
so his dad locked him up
and kept him inside

See, he’s just a bit scary
and dangerous too
he killed both his sisters
and took them as food

So his room’s in the attic
although it’s quite neat
his moms gives him toys
and children to eat

But he has to stay there
where he can’t be seen
and he only comes out
when it’s Halloween

‘Cause there’s only one night
and it comes once a year
when things get all spooky
and kids run in fear

So he went Trick’o'Treatin’
though his parents knew
of the neighborhood kids
none would see the night through

Still they let him go
without even a care
for kids there are plenty
but headless are rare.

. . .

This poem just popped into my head last night and I decided to make my Halloween comic out of it. Now, I don’t consider myself a poet by any standards, and I don’t even like poetry! But I’ll admit they’re fun to make and chant when they’re not about flowers, feelings or the smell of whatever.

So I hope you all enjoy it, and wish you all a great Halloween. Be sure to show us pictures of your costumes and to eat as much candy as you can.

Good hunting;
O
